Checking Lumps, Bumps, and Skin Lesions

Types of lumps and bumps common to our pets include:
1) A sebaceous cyst is a blocked oil gland that looks like a pimple. When it bursts, a white, pasty substance comes out.
2) An abscess is a buildup of pus under the skin. It can be caused by an insect bite, bite from another animal or other trauma to the skin.
3) Fatty tumors and benign growths that occur most often in middle-aged or older dogs.
4) Malignant Tumors that originate in the skin or have spread from another site.
Early detection and evaluation of these conditions can be key in providing the best outcome for your pet.
